Red Country Music Festival returns in 2019 with Country music legend Troy Cassar-Daley (NSW) headlining alongside nine other incredible Country music artists. The festival will take place once again in Port Hedland at the Civic Centre Gardens on Saturday 22 June from 11am, and will see kids’ activities, country clothing stalls, food vans, and more, to make this a community driven family fun day for all.
Festival founder Bradley Hall, is a passionate country musician and a Nyiyaparli man who wanted to share that love of country music with the Pilbara community. In 2014, he created a Pilbara based music festival from which the festival took on a new look in 2018 as the Red Country Music Festival and featured The Black Sorrows and Amber Lawrence amongst a raft of Pilbara based artists.
In 2019 for the first time, the proceeds of all Red Country Music Festival ticket sales will be donated to a new program that will donate the purchase of music instruments and funding for a series of music workshops for three remote Pilbara schools. This initiative is inspired by a will to encourage young people to express their thoughts, feelings and emotions through song and music.
Bradley Hall said “The Red Country Music Festival is about bringing the Pilbara community together to be entertained by talented artists and musicians performing great country music. We also hope the start of our new school based music initiative, made possible through proceeds from the ticket sales, will inspire more young people in the Pilbara to use music as a tool for telling their story.”
Red Country Music Festival, and the incredible community contribution it makes, would not be possible without the support of the Port Hedland community and the festivals’ sponsors and partners. In particular, the partnership with the Nyiyaparli Group, a First Nations organisation breaking new ground in collaborative creative partnerships in Western Australia, as well as the support of world-class integrated iron ore mining, rail and port operation Roy Hill. Red Country Music Festival would also like to recognise Santos and Port Hedland locals Goodline, Gumala Enterprises, Port Hedland International Airport, The Walkabout Hotel and First Nations run Karlka Developments.
Finally, Red Country Music Festival would like to thank its media partner ABC Pilbara and it’s in-kind media sponsors; Spirit Radio and the Northwest Telegraph.
